WAITING WAITING WAITING
I am waiting for my seeds to arrive. Burpee said that they mailed them a couple days ago, but the tracking isn't showing when they are to arrive. I hope to be surprised this evening with a package. We'll see!

It's Gardening Season
So, on Friday, March 20th, we began our garden. We meaning, myself and my parents. My parents property and my property border each other, so we share the gardening space. The garden is much larger than your average backyard garden, but we aren't going to be feeding the masses.
This past Friday we had the garden plowed. Mr. Bruce did a great job. My son, Parker, even got to ride on the tractor. Yes, he was in heaven. Parker also thinks this is his personal mud hole and has had a blast digging and swimming in the dirt.

In addition to our vegetable garden, we have pear, apple, cherry and peach trees. Hopefully we had a cold enough winter to make a great production this year. Last year, we had A LOT of fruit. In addition to our trees, we have our blackberries. They are thorn-less, thumb-size blackberries. They are a little sour for me, but my dear chicken-nugget eating son LOVES them. He goes right up to the vine and eats them. They also make AWESOME cobblers. This year we have a couple holes to add new vines. We are discussing thorn-less raspberries. That is still under debate.
So, what am I planning on growing this year? Good question.
Lettuce
Salsa Tomatoes
A variety of Peppers, both sweet and hot.
My favorite, Pumpkins...several varieties.
Sunflowers
and Gourds
My folks are going to grow, seedless, Big Mama & celebrity tomatoes.
Broccoli
Okra
Two varieties of green beans
Peppers
Squash
Zucchini
Cucumbers
Greens
We have to wait until after Tax Day to really start gardening...but we may get a jump start on the broccoli and lettuce. Not to mention, I am starting a lot of these plants by seed; therefore, I will be getting on the ball about that ASAP.
Today, Mr. Bruce, is coming back to till the garden.
'til then,
Lisa
